Description
For sample persons ages 18 and older who reported that at least three other biological parents of the person's child(ren) were ever diagnosed with cancer, provided the type of cancer which the third other parent was diagnosed as having, and reported that the third other parent with cancer was diagnosed with another type of cancer, OP3DIAC reports the type of cancer the third other parent with cancer was diagnosed with the FIRST time he or she was diagnosed with cancer.
Versions of this variable are available for up to three other biological parents of the person's children. Please use the drop down menu and search function for related variables.
Universe
- 1987: Half of sample persons age 18+ (excluded from CACT supplement) who have at least 1 child (or an unknown number of children), for whom any other parent (of respondent's children) had cancer, for whom the first and second other parents mentioned were not the parents of all respondent's children, and for whom the third other parent mentioned BOTH was ever diagnosed with cancer and had a valid cancer code for their first cancer AND was diagnosed with another type of cancer and has a valid cancer code for the other cancer type.
