Description
For sample persons ages 18 and older who reported that at least two other biological parents of the person's child(ren) were ever diagnosed with cancer, provided the type of cancer which the second other parent was diagnosed as having, and reported that the second other parent with cancer was diagnosed with another type of cancer, OP2DIAC reports the type of cancer the second other parent with cancer was diagnosed with the FIRST time he or she was diagnosed with cancer.
Versions of this variable are available for up to three other biological parents of the person's children. Please use the drop down menu and search function for related variables.
Universe
- 1987: Half of sample persons age 18+ (excluded from CACT supplement) who have at least 1 child (or an unknown number of children), for whom any other parent (of respondent's children) had cancer, for whom the first other parent mentioned was not the parent of all respondent's children, and for whom the second other parent mentioned BOTH was ever diagnosed with cancer and had a valid cancer code for their first cancer AND was diagnosed with another type of cancer and has a valid cancer code for the other cancer type.
