Description

For sample persons aged 18 and over who were employed in the past 2 weeks and worked for a private company, federal, state, or local government, NUMEMPLOC50 indicates whether sample person's employer has more than 50 employees at the building or location where he or she worked.

Comparability

Changes in the universe may affect raw frequencies, but do not affect comparability of the variable. As always, data users should use the prescribed IHIS weights.

Universe

  • 1991: Sample persons age 18+ employed in the past 2 weeks and work for a private company, federal, state, or local government and employer has 50 or more employees.
  • 1992: Half of sample persons age 18+ in quarters 1 and 2, and in 2 weeks of quarter 3 (excluded from CAEP supplement) who have a job with a private company or the federal, state or local government and were employed during the past two weeks.
  • 1993: Half of sample persons age 18+ in quarters 3 and 4 (excluded from AIDS supplement) who were employed in the past two weeks for a private company or federal, state or local government and employer has 50 or more employees.
  • 1994: Half of sample persons age 18+ (excluded from AIDS supplement) who were employed in the past two weeks for a private company or federal, state or local government and employer has 50 or more employees.
