Codes and Frequencies
For sample persons under age 18 who have taken three or more medicines in the past two weeks, MED2WDREC3 indicates if a doctor recommended the third type of medication the child is reported to have taken in the previous two weeks. Those who answered "yes" to MED2WRX3 have been recoded to 3 ("Doctor prescribed") in MED2WDREC3.

Respondents are also asked about the type of third reported medication used MED2W3, the main health problem for which the third reported medication was used MED2WPROB3, whether or not a doctor prescribed the third reported medication MED2WRX3, and the frequency with which the third reported medication was taken in the past three months MED2WFREQ3.
