Description
For sample persons under age 18 who have taken two or more medicines in the past two weeks, MED2WDREC2 indicates if a doctor recommended the second type of medication the child is reported to have taken in the previous two weeks. Those who answered "yes" to MED2WRX2 have been recoded to 3 ("Doctor prescribed") in MED2WDREC2.

Persons are also asked about the type of second reported medication used MED2W2, the main health problem for which the second reported medication was used MED2WPROB2, whether or not a doctor prescribed the second reported medication MED2WRX2, and the frequency with which the second reported medication was taken in the past three months MED2WFREQ2.
