Description
For sample persons aged 18 and over, MDIETASK reports whether, during the last check-up, the doctor asked the respondent about his or her diet and eating habits.
MDIETASK is one of a series of variables dealing with doctor advice. For related variables, please use the IPUMS NHIS search function and drop-down menus.
Universe
- 1991: Sample persons age 18+ who ever had routine physical or for whom it was unknown if they ever had a routine physical.
- 1993: Half of sample persons age 18+ in quarters 3 and 4 (excluded from AIDS supplement) who ever had a check-up.
- 1994: Half of sample persons age 18+ (excluded from AIDS supplement) who had a general physical checkup within past 3 years.
- 1998: Sample adults age 18+ who had physical exam within past 3 years.
