Description

For sample adults in 2002 and 2012 who have seen a practitioner for massage during the past 12 months (MASYR) and sample children in 2012, MASINSURE indicates whether any of the costs of using massage were covered by insurance.

Massage therapy was one of many alternative health treatment modalities included in the 2002 and 2012 Complementary and Alternative Health Supplements. If sample respondents gave a positive response to MASINSURE, they were asked a series of follow-up questions.
