Description

For female sample persons or adults, MAML2YR reports the time since she had a mammogram. In 1991, the response categories were: within the past 2 years and over 2 years. In 1993 and 1994, the response categories were: never had a mammogram, within the past year, 1 to 2 years ago, or over 2 years ago.

Comparability

Apart from changes in the universe and response categories, there are no comparability issues. Changes in survey design (e.g., quarters in which the information was collected) may affect raw frequencies, but do not affect comparability of the variable. As always, data users should use the prescribed IHIS weights.

Universe

  • 1991: Female sample persons age 40+.
  • 1993: Half of female sample adults age 30+ in quarters 3 and 4 (excluded from AIDS supplement).
  • 1994: Half of female sample adults age 30+ (excluded from AIDS supplement).
