Codes and Frequencies
Description
For selected sample adults who drank liquor in the past year, (on six days or more) LIQRSERVDAY reports how many drinks of liquor the respondent had on days they drank liquor.
LIQRSERVDAY was part of a series of variables initiated in 1987 dealing with food and food knowledge in the Cancer epidemiology supplement. For related variables, please use the IPUMS NHIS search function and drop-down menus.
Comparability
Apart from changes in the universe, there are no comparability issues. Changes in survey design (e.g., quarters in which the supplement was collected) may affect raw frequencies, but do not affect comparability of the variable. As always, data users should use the prescribed IHIS weights.
