Description
For persons in families who have a member that experienced at least three job losses in the past 12 months, LAIDOFMO3 reports the month in which the household member was laid off a job or lost the third most recent job.

Comparability
Apart from changes in the universe, there are no comparability issues. Changes in survey design (e.g., quarters in which the supplement was collected) may affect raw frequencies, but do not affect comparability of the variable. As always, data users should use the prescribed IHIS weights.
Universe
- 1983: Persons age 18+ in quarters 3 and 4 who are related household members of a respondent who had been laid off or lost a job in the past 12 months.
- 1984; 1986; 1989: Persons age 18+ who are related household members of a respondent who had been laid off or lost a job in the past 12 months.
