Description
For sample children under age 18, KIDCOTH is a recoded variable reporting whether or not the sample child has a chronic condition affecting a bodily system other than cardiovascular, glandular, respiratory, or digestive. Interviewers asked whether the child has ever had any of a number of conditions, and persons could answer "yes" to as many as applied (see KIDC1 for more details). Any child who was reported to have a chronic condition not related to the systems mentioned above was coded as "mentioned" for KIDCOTH.
