Description

For sample adults aged 55 and older who live in a house/apartment that is rented by a household member, HRENTR is a recoded variable that indicates groups of household members who jointly pay rent for the house/apartment. Examples of groups include: sample person or spouse only, sample person or spouse and someone else in the household. Please see the codes tab for additional response categories.

This recoded variable is based on variables that report whether rent for the house/apartment is being paid by the sample person or other family members such as his/her spouse, child, grandchild, other relative, or non-relative living in the household.
