Description
For sample adults aged 55 and older who live in a house/apartment that is owned or being bought by a household member, HOWNR is a recoded variable that reports groups of household members who jointly own or are jointly buying the house/apartment. Examples of groups include: sample person or spouse only and, sample person or spouse and someone else in the household. Please see the codes tab for additional response categories.
This recoded variable is based on variables that report whether the house/apartment is owned or being bought by the sample person or other family members such as his/her spouse, child, grandchild, other relative, or non-relative living in the household.
