Description
For persons with at least one private insurance plan whose policy holder is on the family roster, HIP1POLCOUT reports that the plan covers someone outside family roster.
The NHIS provides data for the first two private insurance plans reported. Individuals with more than two private plans have a "2" reported for the variable HIPRIVGT2.
This variable can be used to monitor the effects of the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
