Description
For persons with a private insurance plan whose policyholder is on the family roster and whose plan covers someone who lives elsewhere, HIP1KIDOUT reports that the person covered who lives elsewhere is the policyholder's child (or stepchild).
The NHIS provides data for the first two private insurance plans reported. Individuals with more than two private plans have a "2" reported for the variable HIPRIVGT2.
This variable can be used to monitor the effects of the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
