For persons who were not insured continuously in the past year without any changes, HIMEDIGAPYR reports whether in the past 12 months, the person had Medi-Gap coverage.
If the person was uninsured, interviewers asked the type of coverage the person most recently had. If the person had a period without coverage in the past year, interviewers asked about the type of coverage before this period of uninsurance. If person had a change in coverage type in the past year, interviewers asked about the type of coverage prior to the change in coverage.
