Description

For all persons who are currently insured and were continuously covered in the past year (or whose coverage status was unknown), HICHANGEYR indicates if the person had the same type of insurance coverage for the past 12 months.

This variable can be used to monitor the effects of the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

Comparability

There are no comparability issues for HICHANGEYR.

Universe

  • 2011-2013; 2014 2015 2016 2017 2018: Persons who are currently insured and who were continuously covered in the past year or for whom insurance coverage in past year was unknown.

Availability

  • 2011-2018

Weights
