Description

For sample persons age 18 and older who were ever told by a doctor that she/he had hemorrhoids, HEMDRTIM indicates, in pre-specified time intervals, how long ago she/he last talked to a doctor about his/her hemorrhoids. Please see the Codes tab for additional information about the time intervals used for the response categories.

This variable is part of the 1989 Digestive Disorders supplement, fielded to provide data on the nature and prevalence of symptoms attributed to disorders of the lower digestive tract in the adult population. The data provide prevalence estimates on certain common digestive disorders and complaints.
