Description

For sample persons aged 18 and older who worked at a civilian job last year, who had any hand discomfort last year due to an injury that lasted at least 7 consecutive days or at least 20 nonconsecutive days, and who were away from work for more than one week for any reason, HDCHANGE reports if the person's hand discomfort changed (increased, decreased, or stayed the same) when the person was away from work.

This variable was included in the 1988 Occupational Health supplement.
