Description

For sample persons under 18, this variable indicates if the sample child ever had a hay fever. The inquiry did not require a diagnosis by a medical doctor or health professional. A definition of hay fever was not provided in the Field Representative's Manual and the term was assumed to be respondent defined.

This variable was part of a series of questions on child health conditions in the 1988 Supplement on Child Health.

Related Variables
