Description

For all persons in 1990-1992 and family reference person in 1993-1996, GOTSTMPFAMFL indicates person whose information on food stamp receipt (GOTSTAMPFAM) was imputed.

GOTSTMPFAMFL is part of the Family Resources supplement that provides information on individuals' health benefits, amount of coverage and income received from employment, welfare benefits, public assistance, and savings during the month prior to the interview. Unlike the core survey, all missing data in this supplement were imputed by NHIS.

Comparability

Changes in the universe limit the comparability of this variable. As always, users should use the appropriate weight for their analyses.

Universe

  • 1990-1992: All persons.
  • 1993: Family respondents in quarters 3 and 4 who were NOT from single person or married couple-only families with $20,000+ annual income.
  • 1994-1996: Family respondents who were NOT from single person or married couple-only families with $20,000+ annual income.
