Description
For all persons who received dividend income from stocks, mutual funds, or net rental income from property, royalties, estates, or trusts during the month prior to the interview, GOTDIVLOSSFLAG indicates persons whose information on whether they received net income loss from their dividends (GOTDIVLOSS) was imputed.

[show more]GOTDIVLSFL is part of the Family Resources supplement that provides information on individuals' health benefits, amount of coverage and income received from employment, welfare benefits, public assistance, and savings during the month prior to the interview. Unlike the core survey, all missing data in this supplement were imputed by NHIS.
Comparability
In 1993, this variable only included persons who were interviewed in quarters 3 and 4. In 1994, all persons were assigned imputed values for GOTDIVLOSS, regardless of whether they received any dividend last month. In 1995-1996, only persons who reported receiving any dividend income last month were assigned imputed values.
