For sample persons age 18 and older who ever had gallstones or gallbladder trouble that was medically diagnosed, GBTESTSONO indicates if she/he ever had a sonogram or ultrasound of his/her gallbladder to help diagnose the gallstones or gallbladder condition. Interviewers were instructed to read the following, if necessary: "For this test, a gel is rubbed on your upper right side and an instrument is moved around the area while an examiner watches on a television screen."
