Description

For sample persons age 12-21, FIGHTXHURT reports how many times he or she was injured in a physical fight severely enough to seek treatment from a doctor or nurse, in the past 12 months. Individuals who had never been hurt could indicate, "This question does not apply to me because I have not done this during the past 12 months."
FIGHTXHURT is part of the 1992 Youth Risk Behavior Supplement, sponsored by the Division of Adolescent and School Health at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. According to the survey description, this supplement was part of the Youth Risk Surveillance System that was developed to monitor the major risk behaviors of American youth. Sample youth responded for themselves. They listened to taped interview questions and recorded their responses on paper, which were then returned to the interviewers in sealed envelopes.
