Description

For sample persons ages 18 and older who reported that their biological father was ever diagnosed with cancer by a doctor, FAAGEC reports the age at which the person's father was first diagnosed as having cancer.

Comparability

There are no comparability issues with this variable.

Universe

  • 1987: Half of sample persons age 18+ (excluded from CACT supplement) who did not report that they never knew their natural father, and whose biological father was ever diagnosed with cancer and had a valid cancer code.
