Description

For sample adults who had participated in another physical activity (activity number 1) in the past 2 weeks (EXOTHER1), EXOTHER1BR reports whether respondents usually experienced a small, moderate, or large increase, or no increase at all in their heart rate or breathing while participating in another physical activity (activity number 1).

After determining that a respondent participated in another physical activity (activity number 1), respondents were first asked, "How many times in the past 2 weeks did you participate in another physical activity (activity number 1)?" (EXOTHER1NO). They were then asked, "On the average, about how many minutes did you spend doing another physical activity (activity number 1)?" (EXOTHER1MIN). Finally, to obtain information for EXOTHER1BR, respondents were asked, "What usually happened to your heart rate or breathing when you participated in another physical activity (activity number 1)? Did you have a small, moderate, or large increase, or no increase at all in your heart rate or breathing?"
