Description

For sample persons aged 18 and older who are determined to be physically handicapped by interviewers, EXERANY2WKPH reports if, in the past 2 weeks, the person has done any exercises, sports, or physically active hobbies.

Comparability

Changes in survey design (e.g., quarters in which the supplement was collected) may affect raw frequencies, but do not affect comparability of the variable. As always, data users should use the prescribed IPUMS NHIS weights.

Universe

  • 1985: Sample persons age 18+ judged physically handicapped by interviewer.
  • 1990: Sample persons age 18+ judged physically handicapped by interviewer.
  • 1991: Sample persons age 18+ judged physically handicapped by interviewer.
  • 1995: Half of sample persons age 18+ (excluded from AIDS supplement) judged physically handicapped by interviewer.
  • 1998: Sample adults age 18+ judged physically handicapped by interviewer.
