Description

For sample adults who had participated in biking in the past 2 weeks (EXBIKE), EXBIKEBR reports whether respondents usually experienced a small, moderate, or large increase, or no increase at all in their heart rate or breathing while biking.

After determining that a respondent participated in biking, respondents were first asked, "How many times in the past 2 weeks did you bike?" (EXBIKENO). They were then asked, "On the average, about how many minutes did you spend biking?" (EXBIKEMIN). Finally, to obtain information for EXBIKEBR, respondents were asked, "What usually happened to your heart rate or breathing when you biked? Did you have a small, moderate, or large increase, or no increase at all in your heart rate or breathing?"
