Codes and Frequencies
Description
For sample persons ages 40 and older who have heard of a digital rectal exam and either have never had the exam or have had the exam but not in the last three years, DRXYNOEV3YR reports the most important reason why the respondent has not had the exam. Please see Comparability and Universe tabs for changes in the sample between years.
Comparability
Changes in response categories may affect comparability between samples. Some response categories were eliminated or combined between samples.
Changes in survey design (e.g., quarters in which the supplement was collected) may affect raw frequencies, but do not affect comparability of the variable. As always, data users should use the prescribed IPUMS NHIS weights.
