Description

For sample persons ages 40 and older who have heard of and had a digital rectal exam but did not report the month and year of their last exam, DRXTP reports a type of time unit (days, weeks, months, or years) associated with a numerical response (DRXNO) that reports the length of time since the person's most recent digital rectal exam. Users should combine these two variables to determine the length of time since the person's last digital rectal exam.

Comparability

Changes in survey design (e.g., quarters in which the supplement was collected) may affect raw frequencies, but do not affect comparability of the variable. As always, data users should use the prescribed IPUMS NHIS weights.
