Description

For sample persons age 18 and older who ever had diverticulitis and were ever hospitalized overnight for diverticulitis, DIVHOSPTIM indicates, in pre-specified time intervals, how long ago she/he was hospitalized overnight for diverticulitis. Please see the Codes tab for additional information about the time intervals used for the response categories.

This variable is part of the 1989 Digestive Disorders supplement, fielded to provide data on the nature and prevalence of symptoms attributed to disorders of the lower digestive tract in the adult population. The data provide prevalence estimates on certain common digestive disorders and complaints.
