In 2017, this variable was collected for persons 5 and older selected for the Family Disability Supplement who had serious difficulty in concentrating or remembering due to a physical, mental, or emotional condition (DISCONP). Beginning in 2018, this variable was collected for sample adults aged 18 and older who had some difficulty, a lot of difficulty, or were unable to remember or concentrate, or did not know or refused to indicate whether they were able to remember or concentrate (LAMEMCONDIF).
