Description

For sample children aged 4 to 17 who had at least minor difficulties with emotions, concentration, behavior or being able to get along with others in the past 6 months (EMODIFF), DIFTSCHPER indicates whether the child received any treatment or counseling from a school social worker, school psychologist, school nurse, school counselor, special education teacher, or school speech, occupational or physical therapist in the past 6 months.

Comparability

Beginning in 2011, special education teacher was no longer offered as a response category for school personnel providing treatment or counseling. Otherwise, there are no comparability issues.

Universe

  • 2010-2013: Sample children age 4 to 17 who currently have or have had at least minor difficulties with emotions, concentration, behavior, or being able to get along in the past 6 months.
