For sample adults who made lasting and major changes in what they eat or drink for health reasons, DIETCHANG5Y indicates that the person made these changes within the past 5 years of the survey. This includes both changes the person made after being diagnosed with a disease, or changes to prevent a disease. It does not include temporary changes over a short period of time.
