Description
For adults with confirmed diabetes, DIAVISPROB indicates whether the person had serious trouble seeing in one or both eyes, even when wearing glasses or contact lenses.
This variable was included in the 1989 Diabetes supplement. A complementary variable is available for sample adults without confirmed diabetes (VISIONPROB). For related variables, please use the IPUMS NHIS search function and drop-down menus.
