Description

For female sample adults age 18 and older who were first diagnosed with diabetes while pregnant (DIAGNOS1PREG), DIAGNOS1PROT reports if the respondent was ever told that she had diabetes other than during pregnancy.

For related variables, please see DIABETICEVor use the IPUMS NHIS search function and drop-down menus.

Comparability

Changes in survey design (e.g., quarters in which the supplement was collected) may affect raw frequencies, but do not affect comparability of the variable. As always, data users should use the prescribed IHIS weights.
