Description

For sample adults age 18 and older who, other than during pregnancy, were ever told they have diabetes (DIABETICEV), DIAEYEXAMEV reports if the respondent has ever had an eye exam in which her/his pupils were dilated.

Comparability

In 1991, this question was asked of all sample adults age 18 and older; beginning in 1998 it was only asked of sample adults who were ever told they had diabetes, other than during pregnancy. Users should exercise caution when comparing across samples for DIAEYEXAMEV.
