Description
For sample adults aged 18 and older, CSQGUMYR indicates if the person used a nicotine gum or lozenge during her/his last attempt to quit smoking in the past 12 months. Please see Comparability and Universe tabs for complete information on changes in universe between samples.
Comparability
In 2005, this question was asked of sample adults who smoked at least 100 cigarettes in their entire lives currently smoke, and had tried to quit in the past 12 months.
In 2010 and 2015, this question was asked of sample adults who were current smokers and had tried to quit in the past year.
In 2022, this question was asked of sample adults 18 and older who tried to quit smoking in the past 12 months (CSSTOPEV).

Universe
- 2005: Sample adults age 18+ who smoked at least 100 cigarettes in their entire lives who are current smokers that tried to quit in the past 12 months.
- 2010; 2015: Sample adults 18+ who are current smokers and tried to quit in the last year.
- 2022: Sample adults 18+ who tried to quit smoking in the past 12 months (CSSTOPEV).
