Description

For sample person age 18 and older who have smoked 100 cigarettes, smoke every or some days or have smoked at least once in the past 30 days, CSQDOC indicates if the person has seen a medical doctor in the past year.

Comparability

There are no comparability issues with this variable.

Universe

  • 1992: Half of sample persons age 18+ in quarters 1 and 2 and in 2 weeks of quarter 3 (excluded from CAEP supplement) who have smoked at least 100 cigarettes and are every day smokers OR are some day smokers who have smoked at least once in the past 30 days (or for whom it was unknown if they had smoked in past 30 days).
