Codes and Frequencies
Description
For sample adults, CORBREDSIZ reports the respondent's average portion size (small, medium, or large) when eating corn bread, corn muffins, corn tortillas, or grits. A medium portion was defined as 1 piece or ½ cup of grits. Researchers may wish to use CORBREDSIZ in conjunction with CORBREDNO, which reports the frequency with which the respondent ate corn bread, corn muffins, corn tortillas, or grits and CORBREDTP, which reports the corresponding time unit.
CORBREDSIZ is part of a series of variables initiated in 1987 related to food, food knowledge, and cancer. For related variables, please use the IPUMS NHIS search function and drop-down menus.
