For all persons, COMIVIEW reports if the household completed the interview, or if the household was a non-interview. Please see the comparability tab for more detailed information on changes in the variable over time.

Comparability

For 1982-forward, a category for completed interviews of military households was added. This category is also available in 1965-1967, but is not part of the original public-use files and was instead added by IPUMS NHIS staff while reformatting the original data. Other than these changes in response category over time, there are no comparability issues.
