Description

For sample persons ages 18-44, COKUSOTH reports if the person reported using cocaine in some other way when asked about the ways in which she/he used cocaine in the past 12 months. Response categories, which can be used to interpret "some other way", include: sniffing through the nose or snorting; swallowing or drinking; injecting in a vein or muscle with a needle; smoking or free basing; did not use cocaine in the past 12 months; or, never used cocaine-not even once.
This variable is part of a series of questions on drug and alcohol use. Respondents filled this survey supplement out themselves because of the potentially personal nature of the questions included in the supplement. The interviewer was available to provide assistance if requested. The supplement includes detailed questions about cocaine (COKABUSEYR), marijuana (MJABUSEYR), and general questions about use of hallucinogens, inhalants, heroin, painkillers, sedatives, stimulants, and tranquilizers.
