Description

For persons aged 10 and older who had schizophrenia, paranoid or delusional disorder, manic episodes or manic depression, major depression, severe personality disorder, Alzheimer's or other senile disorder, alcohol abuse disorder, drug abuse disorder, mental retardation, or other serious mental or emotional disorder in the past 12 months and who did not independently and adequately handle routine matters such as shopping, CMISHMENDIS indicates if the reason the person cannot manage shopping is because of the mental disorder(s) the he or she has.

CMISHMENDIS is part of the Mental Health Supplement in 1989 that collects information on the amount and distribution of illness, its effects in terms of disability and chronic impairments, and the kinds of services people receive.
