Description

For persons who had schizophrenia in the past 12 months, who were diagnosed by a doctor or other health professional, and whose doctor called schizophrenia by a more technical or specific name when giving the diagnosis, CMISCHZWHAT reports the technical or specific name for schizophrenia that the doctor or other health professional called when he/she diagnosed the person with schizophrenia.

This variable is part of the Mental Health Supplement in 1989 that collects information on the amount and distribution of mental illnesses, its effects in terms of disability and chronic impairments, and the kinds of services people receive.
