Description

For persons who mentioned that they had manic episodes in the past 12 months and whose doctor or other health professional gave a diagnosis of manic episodes, CMIMANITECH reports if the person's doctor or other health professional used a more technical or specific name to refer to manic episodes when he or she diagnosed the person with this mental disorder.

This variable is part of the Mental Health Supplement in 1989 that collects information on the amount and distribution of mental illnesses, its effects in terms of disability and chronic impairments, and the kinds of services people receive.
