Description

For persons who mentioned that they had manic episodes and who saw a doctor or other health professional but the health professional never gave a diagnosis of manic episodes, CMIMANISPEC reports if the health professional has ever used another technical or specific name to refer to the person's manic episodes.

This variable is part of the Mental Health Supplement in 1989 that collects information on the amount and distribution of mental illnesses, its effects in terms of disability and chronic impairments, and the kinds of services people receive.
