Description

For persons who mentioned that they had any major depression in the past 12 months and whose doctor or other health professional ever gave a diagnosis of major depression, CMIMAJDTECH reports if the doctor or other health professional used a more technical or specific name to refer to the person's major depression.

This variable is part of the Mental Health Supplement in 1989 that collects information on the amount and distribution of mental illnesses, its effects in terms of disability and chronic impairments, and the kinds of services people receive.
