Description

For sample persons age 10 to 69 who do not appropriately and independently take care of their own personal care needs, such as eating, dressing, bathing, and going to the toilet, and who had a serious mental disorder during the past 12 months, CMIINMENDIS indicates if the reason for the sample person not being able to manage his or her own personal care needs is because of his or her mental disorder(s).

CMIINMENDIS is part of the Mental Health Supplement in 1989 that collects information on the amount and distribution of illness, its effects in terms of disability and chronic impairments, and the kinds of services people receive.
