Description

For sample persons age 18 to 69 who had schizophrenia, paranoid or delusional disorder, manic episodes or manic depression, major depression, severe personality disorder, Alzheimer's or other senile disorder, alcohol abuse disorder, drug abuse disorder, mental retardation, or other serious mental or emotional disorder in the past 12 months, and who were unable to work, or limited in the kind or amount of work, or had trouble finding or keeping a job or doing tasks because of these disorders, CMIHLWKLT reports how long the sample person has had these work limitations because of their mental disorder(s).

CMIHLWKLT is part of the Mental Health Supplement in 1989 that collects information on the amount and distribution of illness, its effects in terms of disability and chronic impairments, and the kinds of services people receive.
