Description

For sample persons age 5 and older had schizophrenia, paranoid or delusional disorder, manic episodes or manic depression, major depression, severe personality disorder, Alzheimer's or other senile disorder, alcohol abuse disorder, drug abuse disorder, mental retardation, or other serious mental or emotional disorder in the past 12 months who had difficulty forming friendships, keeping friends, concentrating long enough to finish tasks, or coping with day-to-day stresses, CMIHLDIFF reports how long the sample person has had any of these difficulties.

CMIHLDIFF is part of the Mental Health Supplement in 1989 that collects information on the amount and distribution of illness, its effects in terms of disability and chronic impairments, and the kinds of services people receive.
